Southern Tier

Downtown blocks, campuses, and southern city retail.

The Southern Tier is several cities: the Binghamton metro beside Elmira and Corning. Each place keeps its own center. Binghamton’s campus edge, Elmira’s river blocks, and Corning’s Market Street stay on their own pages when the copy arrives. The glass museum can share a block in Corning. It will not become the region.

What opens here

The places waiting for copy.

  1. Binghamton

The center of the valley and the streets at the edge of campus, kept as Binghamton.

  2. Elmira

A river city with its own commerce and neighborhood scale.

  3. Corning

Market Street as a place to eat and shop, in a small city that already knows how to be a center.
